During this module, I had to take multiple photographs of the describing the notion of semiotics through 3 different mediums as described below, these being Symbolic, Iconic & Indexical methods of photography respectively...
Symbolic.

The above image is an image which is defined as a 'Symbolic Semiotic image'. This means that part of an image successfully defines a described element without directly showing this within the frame. This allows the viewer / audience to successfully get an idea of what is being described from one image.
The above image completes this criteria as it allows the viewer to gauge that there is a 'Way Out' to the right of the sign without directly showing this in the frame.
Iconic.

An image that is described as an 'Iconic Semiotic Image' is one that is fixated with representations of other elements through different forms. For example the above image accomplishes this as it shows 3 figures taken from mainstream pop culture (The Joker, a Stormtrooper and an American County Sheriff) and represents them though a more cartoon - like form, making smaller details more abstract and accentuating more recognisable features. This makes the figures easily recognisable to an audience despite the
appearance of their 'real' counterparts being absent.
Indexical.

An 'Indexical Semiotic Image' is an image which its main element of focus can have a connection to another subject that is out of the frame. This is demonstrated in the above image as it shows a pair of alone shoes. As we can see, the shoes are not being worn and so are not connected to a person. Because of the framing of the photo we can insinuate that the shoes belong to a person and we can recognise that the person and the shoes are connected but yet apart from each other yet the connection is hinted arr within the photograph above.
