During this module, I had to take a series of photographs describing different scenes on a flat canvas...
Urban & Dangerous.
The above image is an image that represents an urban and gritty environment. It does this by making sure that the clean and unmarked structure of the buildings behind the subject are out of focus and also highlights the man-made concrete structure that he is sitting on. This also contributes to the look of the grittiness by showing imperfections such as stains and cracks within the in-focus structure.
Loneliness & Despair.
The above image shows loneliness and despair. It establishes this by placing the subject in the left side of the frame. This means that a lot of empty, negative space is shown to the right and allows for the audience to see that the subject is alone in the frame. As well as this, the photo also shows despair by having a grayscale filter applied to it. This allows for the photo to have a look that only has a dark tone and lacks any sort of happier / upbeat tones.
City & Fraudulence.
The image above attempts to capture a scene that reflects fraudulent dealings and an urban environment. This is successfully captured as the subjects in the video are hooded and exchanging items and the photo is more grainy. This provides a gritty stage for the frame to be focused upon and amplifies the urban tone when combines with the overall muted colours within the photo.
